THERE’S NUTHIN’ WRONG WITH ME (ANOTHER WHISKEY WOULDN’T FIX) People been talkin' I ain't naming no names The rumour is I ain't quite at the top of my game They say I'm sinking fast going deeper each day But I never gave a damn about what people might say My customary lifestyle lately’s hard to maintain I ain’t consumed a lot of haute cuisine or drunk too much champagne I ain’t been sleeping on no feather bed but I ain’t gonna bitch There’s nuthin’ wrong with me another whiskey wouldn’t fix My fiscal arrangements are need of some reform My portfolio of stocks and shares is failing to perform I may have made a few investments which on reflection were unwise The nights down at the dog track were especially ill-advised I may have one or two commitments which need to be addressed Before I tell my public that I’m right back at my best But even if I always get the brown end of the stick There’s nuthin’ wrong with me another whiskey wouldn’t fix I’ve become a bit reclusive I seldom socialize The society engagements have recently run dry And old buddies don’t pick up my calls, I guess they’re out of town Although I’m generally too busy in the bar to fool around I prefer to be a loner it’s all the rage these days Especially since my girl and me both went our separate ways I won’t deny it’s hard sometimes when no-one’s got your six But there’s nuthin’ wrong with me another whiskey wouldn’t fix

Everything Gonna be Alright Lately I’ve been dreaming Same thing every night Muddy Waters tells me Everything gonna be alright Then I’m driving up to Memphis In a brand new Cadillac And I swear I don’t know how or when I’m ever coming back Looking for salvation in a land I’ve never seen Just a dreamer who got lost inside the dream A blues harp and suitcase And a national steel guitar A bag of dirt and knucklebones A fat cuban cigar A Juke Joint out in nowheresville Eating ribs and dirty rice Drinking Jax and wild turkey In a twelve bar paradise Looking for salvation In a land I’ve never seen Just a dreamer who got lost inside the dream From the Crossroads outside Clarkesdale To Beale Street and beyond A carpet bag of stories Tales of a time and place long gone Lately I’ve been dreaming Different one last night McKinley Morganfield he said “Everything gonna be alright There ain’t no devil at the crossroads Boy you gotta understand You should be living in the world Not this down home wonderland You’re looking for salvation In a land You’ve never seen You’re just a dreamer who got lost inside the dream

When The Morning Comes Here comes my baby She’s all dressed in white Says she wants to Take me out tonight And I believe, I believe when the morning comes I’ll look for my baby But she’ll be gone, gone, gone I see her walking But she leaves no trace I hear her talking But I can’t see her face And I believe… Last time I saw you Did I hear you say “Don’t worry baby I’ll be back someday” You swore to me As you closed your eyes You’ll come for me In the dead of night And I believe… Here come my baby And I understand Ain’t no rest If you got blood on your hands And I believe I believe before the morning comes She’ll be in my arms And I’ll be gone, gone, gone

THERE WILL BE BLOOD Smashing bottles in the back yard Just to hear the sound of breaking glass Got the radio tuned to white noise And the light is fading fast I’m all wound up, wired and wasted I've got a skull full of spiders and snakes staring into the darkness out on the edge Don’t know how much more I can take I try to hold steady try to keep it tight I’ve got to keep control Just one slip and I’ll lose my grip And the whole damn thing Is going to blow CHORUS There will be blood - I see trouble falling down like rain There will be blood - I see nothing but ruin and pain It’s all coming down again There will be blood I've got a shoebox full of secrets And a small blue bottle of tears I'm lost in the balands ain’t got a map to show me the way out of here I've got stay calm I can't let go but it's harder every day Just one mistake, that's all it takes And the whole damn thing Goes up in flames CHORUS Don't want to talk about the future Got no more lies to tell about my past All I know right here right now Is the good things never last I try to hold steady try to keep it tight I’ve got to keep control Just one slip and I’ll lose my grip And the whole damn thing is going to blow There will be blood - I see trouble falling down like rain There will be blood - I see nothing but ruin and pain There will be blood - I see trouble falling down like rain There will be blood - I see nothing but ruin and pain It’s all coming down again There will be blood

High Times 05:40
HIGH TIMES I’ve had high times And dry times I’ve had time on my side There were slow times There was no time I have seen the time fly For all the time I have wasted stolen or saved I know for a fact this is true I’ve had the time of my life here with you I’ve marked time Through the dark times I’ve had time off the clock I passed time Lived through fast times I’ve had time to take stock For all the time I have squandered taken or made I know for fact this is true I’ve had the time of my life here with you I’ve had the time of my life here with you I’ve known hard times And bar time And time standing still There were bad times And I’ve had time So much time to kill For all the time I spent wisely, all the time I have lost I know for a fact this is true I’ve had the time of my life here with you I’ve had the time of my life here with you I’ve had the time of my life here with you I’ve had the time of my life here with you I’ve had the time of my life loving you

KEEP ON DIGGING CHORUS If I keep on digging digging this hole If I keep on digging down all of the way If I keep on digging digging this hole you know I'll never see the light of day no more Never see the light of day Some folks search for silver some go panning for gold I spent my days on a diamond hunt But all I ever found was coal CHORUS some folk live in the sunshine All I ever see is rain Down in the hole it's cold and dark but I ain't coming out again CHORUS So now I’ve told you my story I swear every word is true I’m going down, all the way down Gonna keep on digging the blues CHORUS

NEVER BREAK YOUR HEART AGAIN I wake up in the back of a pick-up truck Status and location unknown Handcuffed hogtied covered in blood And terrified down to the bone And the desert sun is burning down As she hauls me down onto the dirt I make no claim to supernatural powers But I’ve seen the future and it’s going to hurt CHORUS Please baby please don’t ya do this to me At least let me try to explain Give me one more chance I’ll fix it all up And I’ll never break your heart again I’ll never break your heart again Out in the Bayou up to my neck In all kinds of trouble and pain There’s spike heeled boot pressing down on my head I’m thinking how can this be happening again And fat old gators and moccasin snakes Are giving me the evil eye I ain’t no saint I ain’t no joy to behold But I sure as hell ain’t ready to die CHORUS I know you’re angry - I understand You’ve got a right to be sore I get the message loud and clear I let you down and now you want to settle the score Can’t see much with a bag on my head But I know the smell of gasoline I hear a sound which fills me with dread You shouldn’t play with matches you know what I mean I truly believe we could talk this through If you hadn’t stuck a gag in my mouth I’ve learned to trust my instincts over the years And right now they’re telling me it’s all going south CHORUS
8.
SUCKERPUNCH BLUES Always been the same Since the day I was born Don’t go looking for trouble But here it is banging on my door I don’t know what I’ve done To earn these suckerpunch blues Thought we were cruising Thought you were the one Now you tell me that you’re leaving Jesus, where did that come from? Here it comes again Another dose of the suckerpunch blues Tell me when did I ever mistreat you? When did I ever do you wrong? And now right out of the blues You say it’s not me it’s you And the best thing you can do is move along Did you think it would be easy? Did you think I’d understand? Can you really be surprised That this ain’t going like you planned? You’ve got a lot of nerve And I’ve got the Suckerpunch blues I carried you and kept you through the bad times I picked you up when you were on the floor Now you look me in the eye And tell me this is goodbye I believe I deserve so much more Did you think it would be easy? Did you think I’d understand? Can you really be surprised That this ain’t going like you planned? You’ve got a lot of nerve And I’ve got the Suckerpunch blues

BAD LUCK JONAH Midnight rooster crowing at the moon Black cat walking on my grave heartbreak and trouble always follow me round Gonna weep a river again Thirteen Ravens and a two dollar bill A pocket full of bone-yard dirt If the lying don’t get me then the hard liquor will But which is gonna do for me first? CHORUS The one-eyed Stranger in the long black coat Says "Mister, I know your name You're the one they call Bad Luck Jonah You wear the mark of shame You're the one to blame Mama always told me “Boy you’re going to hell You was born under baleful star” From where I stand I guess she must’ve been right And I ain’t had to travel too far Seven black crows watched me roll the dice Came up snake-eyes ev’ry time Don’t you stand too close I’ll put the mark on you Move along down the line CHORUS There’s a pale rider on a tall white horse With tombstone look in his eye Hound dog howling in the dead of the night They’re gonna hang me out to dry Bring me coffin nails and a silver knife Take me down to the railroad track I got a noise in my head like a jackhammer drill Got a king-size monkey on my back CHORUS
10.
YOU’RE THE BOMB My oh my! do you mind if enquire You’re so hot how come you ain’t on fire? You shine so bright you make this poor boy blind I can’t look too long or else I’ll lose my mind Angels weep when they see you coming Dead men get up and dance When you flash that smile all the boys come running Just in case they’re in with half a chance CHORUS I’ve said before and I’ll say it again You’re the first class winner you’re the perfect Ten You’re the real deal you’re the number one You’re the cream, you’re the dream Baby- You’re the bomb you’re the bomb Baby you’re the bomb You’re the bomb you’re the bomb Baby you’re the bomb Oh my lord did I die and go to heaven? I could watch you shakin’ it twenty-four seven You make me feel so good how can it be wrong? You blow me away - baby you’re the bomb Is this the face that launched a thousand ships Smiling back at me? Did the world go mad just to see you shake your hips? Is this the ass that started world war three? CHORUS You’re the bomb you’re the bomb Baby you’re the bomb You’re the bomb you’re the bomb Baby you’re the bomb Angels weep when they see you coming Dead men get up and dance When you flash that smile all the boys come running Just in case they’re in with half a chance CHORUS

FEAR OF THE DARK I: When the Lights Went Out When the lights went out we made for the hills Just like we’ve always done around here Left it all behind although it broke our hearts But we didn’t have time for tears Thirty hours straight always pushing on Didn’t even stop to sleep One step ahead of the gathering night More than half dead on our feet And the old folks say Back in the golden days They never truly knew real fear But those days are gone Right or wrong When the night comes down All anybody knows round here Is the fear of the dark Got my grandaddy's old thirty-aught-six He used when he was hunting deer But you can’t shoot much if you ain’t got no lead So it hasn’t been fired for years It’s the old ways now, bows and knives And just try to stay out of sight You're pretty much safe in the noonday sun But you never go out at night And the old folks say Back in the golden days They never truly knew real fear But those days are gone Right or wrong When the night comes down All anybody knows round here Is the fear of the dark ii: Run Run Run Late in the day out in the woods Christ I must’ve lost track of the time I’ve got to get back before the daylight fades No way to survive out at night They can feel the heat of the blood in my veins They can smell the fear on my skin The beat of my heart and the breath in my lungs All of it calling them in Run run run chasing the sun Got to get back before the night time comes Run run run keep on keeping on Miles from home and the days nearly done Run run run run Run run run run Run Getting near home and I’m ready to drop Feel like I’ve been running for days I know they’re behind me hot on my tail The hunters close in on their prey Running on empty weeping in terror A jack rabbit chased by the hounds Eyes on the skyline racing for home Pray they don’t run me to ground Run run run chasing the sun Got to get back before the night time comes Run run run keep on keeping on Miles from home and the days nearly done Run run run run Run run run run Run iii: Fear of the Dark There are not many left among us still able to recall The time we call the Golden Days; the time before the fall But those who do tell stories and these tales get passed around Of a place where no-one had to fear the sun going down And I confess – against all rhyme and reason Those days may come again so I believe Because I heard somewhere all things must have their season And a world without darkness is a world I’d like to see So when there’s point in praying because there’s no-one there to hear And despair is just a luxury we can’t afford ‘round here Look to the morning; let the sunrise lift your heart And dare to hope someday we’ll see an end To the fear of the dark Back before the lights went out or so I’ve heard it told People often lived their lives in fear of growing old I smile now when I hear this, when like all here I’ll attest If I live to see my thirties I’ll be blessed But I confess – against all rhyme and reason Those days may come again so I believe Because I heard somewhere all things must have their season And a world without darkness is a world I’d like to see So when there’s point in praying because there’s no-one there to hear And despair is just a luxury we can’t afford ‘round here Look to the morning; let the sunrise lift your heart And dare to hope someday we’ll see an end To the fear of the dark
