BLACKHEART’S DANCE Blackheart crept up on me One ill-starred luckless night And made himself a dwelling in my soul He nailed shut the shutters To keep away the light For Blackheart turns his nightmares In the darkness and the cold Now I hear what Blackheart hears I see with Blackheart’s eyes I smile his thin and icy smile And preach the Blackheart’s lies And none can ever save me And none will get the chance As I live and if I live I dance the Blackheart’s dance Blackheart never leaves me I am bound to him with chains That wind around my heart under my skin I can know no joy I am insensible to pain Blackheart calls the shadows That smother from within And all I know is what he knows I feel what Blackheart feels For all my senses show me Only Blackheart knows what’s real And none can ever save me And none will get the chance As I live and if I live I dance the Blackheart’s dance If I had the will then I would Pray for judgement day And If I had the courage I would fight And if I had the strength Then I would tear myself away I would forswear the darkness And walk into the light To see the world with my own eyes To break the Blackheart’s chains To know I am beloved of god To feel the pleasure and the pain But none can ever save me And none will get the chance As I live and if I live I dance the Blackheart’s dance

PLEASURE BEACH NIGHTS Tim Lane If I’d have known back then what I know today I might’ve done it different who can say? Regrets and wishes and might- have-beens are fool’s gold Like a drunkard’s promise or a salesman’s smile However hot it seems in very short while You’re gonna find out how dreams turn cold But the smallest things can take me right back A TV show forgotten holiday snaps The smell of asphalt cooling on a hot summer night I still recall those pleasure beach nights The whip and the waltzer and the neon lights The big wheel and the roller coaster screams The smell of candyfloss the pounding disco beat The joy of it all swept us off our feet Just you and me girl living a teenage dream The romance hung like a fog in the hot summer air The lights made a halo in your long blond hair Every perfect second was a prize The slot arcades and the fairground stalls A bag chips on the seafront wall This had to be the best night of our lives And later we walked down on the sand Enchanted lovers hand in hand You asked me if I thought this could be love CHORUS If I’d have known back then what I know today I might’ve done it different who can say? I’ve no idea what happened to you I hope things turned out like you planned Wherever you are maybe now and again You’ll remember that time way back when We were king and queen of a neon wonderland Perhaps the smallest things can take me right back A TV show forgotten holiday snaps The smell of asphalt cooling on a hot summer night CHORUS

YOU’LL HAVE TO MAKE DO WITH ME Tim Lane Are you looking for a knight in shining armour To ride on up and sweep you off his feet? Is there a twinkle in his eye that makes your mouth go dry And does he have all his own teeth? Well I don’t wanna disappoint you or bring you down But there ain’t too many guys like that around So if you’re looking for a hero you’ll have to make do with me CHORUS You’ll have to make do with me, as far as I can see If you’re looking for a hero you’ll have to make do with me Are you looking for a Valentino to climb out of that silver screen? Will he take you in his arms and keep you free from harm? Will you live some golden Hollywood dream? Now I don’t wanna burst your bubble or rain on your parade But you won’t find many movie stars round here I’m afraid If you’re looking for a hero you’ll have to make do with me REPEAT CHORUS You’ll have to make do with me, as far as I can see If you’re looking for a hero you’ll have to make do with me I know I ain’t exactly your number one choice In fact I doubt I’d make your top seventeen But if you put me to the test I’ll do my very best To meet your expectations if you know what I mean INSTRUMENTAL: I may not be a Valentino or a legendary knight But if you take a chance on me you know I’m gonna treat you right If you’re looking for a hero you’ll have to make do with me REPEAT CHORUS

Pretty Nancy of Yarmouth Pretty Nancy of Yarmouth, she's me own heart's delight, And a long and kind letter unto her I did write; All to inform her what we had to undergo, While sailing on the ocean where stormy winds blow. On the eighteenth of October our barque it set sail Pretty Nancy came down for to bid me farewell, She said, "While you're sailing on the wild wastes of blue," She said, "My young sailor, I'll be faithful to you." Long years then did pass when back I did return Pretty Nancy was married, had a home of her own, While I was a-sailing on the wide restless sea, Pretty Nancy proved faithless and false unto me. So come all you young sailors, take a warning by me And never leave the lass you love for to plough the salt sea, For while you are sailing on the wide ocean blue, She'll prove faithless like Nancy of Yarmouth to you. trad

Good Times 04:28
GOOD TIMES I recognised you soon as you walked in the bar It must be twenty-five years but I still wear the scars You haven’t changed much maybe put on some weight A little grey in you hair but your still looking great And I remember that look the wicked glint in your eye There was no kind of mischief you wouldn’t try No kind of hell you were unwilling to raise And I was the same oh yes those were the days CHORUS Those were the good times, damn good times When we were brothers in blood When we were partners in crime They was oh so sweet they were oh so fine Those were damn good times VERSE 2: We were always together never apart Out on the edge always partying hard We were the wild boys having a blast Each night an adventure to better the last Yeah we were the lads back in the day We were out of control no one got in our way We never backed down we never said no The first in the breach and the last ones to go REPEAT CHORUS INSTRUMENTAL: VERSE 3: Then one day it stopped you just disappeared And everything seemed so much smaller round here Why did you leave? Where did you go? To this day I simply don’t know But now you’ve come back and it’s easy to see That although I know you, you don’t recognise me And what cuts like a knife, the thing hardest to bear Is you just looked right through me like I wasn’t there REPEAT CHORUS

Whiskey is the New Romance Got a bottle of High Commissioner Got a pack of Marlboro reds Got the TV and a picture of you Got a place that seems half empty Got a mountain of regrets Got a night on my own to get through Got my red eyes wide open Got no reason to smile Got no prospect of just one more chance And now Saturday night is the new Monday morning And whiskey is the new romance Got a mind to shit-faced Got my heart in a sling Got a stupid streak fifteen miles wide Got an urge to get the telephone And give you a ring But I’ve still got some small shreds of pride Got my red eyes wide open Got no reason to smile Got no prospect of just one more chance And now Saturday night is the new Monday morning And whiskey is the new romance Got two parts self-pity To one part remorse Mixed up with a large shot shame Got nothing but time And I know in due course I’ll need to find somebody else to blame Got my red eyes wide open Got no reason to smile Got no prospect of just one more chance And now Saturday night is the new Monday morning And whiskey is the new romance

Stay (Don’t Slip Away) Did you ever hear the one about the man who never made any money? It’s no big secret; the man in the story was me I may be poor but my general disposition is sunny Cos I got you and that’s the way I always want it to be I look at your face as you walk through the door I know however much I get I’ll always want to have some more Won’t you stay won’t you stay Don’t you ever slip away from me I heard a tale about a woman who said she was leaving I briefly entertained the notion that the woman in question was you But a long tall story like that’s gonna take some believing After all this time I just know that it could never be true I got your back I know that you’ve got mine And if we keep that way we’ll get along just fine Won’t you stay won’t you stay Don’t you ever slip away, don’t you ever slip away from me You turn me inside out you turn me upside down I can’t imagine my existence without you around There’s just one thing I need to do before I die I need to stay with you for the rest of my life I need to stay with you for the rest of my life All the best stories seem to end the same way They lived happy ever for the rest of their days Won’t you stay won’t you stay Don’t you ever slip away, don’t you ever slip away from me

A BOTTLE OF TEQUILA AND BAD CASE OF THE BLUES. Nothing’s diff’rent round here, no nothing’s changed. There’s nothing going on that you would really call strange. His Baby left him It’s a tired old tale And he’s had a few drinks to put some wind in his sails. Ev’ry single time that he gets put in his place Ev’ry single time life ups and slaps him in the face His reaction ain’t nothing you could really call news Just a bottle of tequila and a bad case of the blues. The first time he ever fell in love it was tough She was a waitress in the restaurant who liked a bit of rough She took his ring she took his pride spent his cash, then left him flat Then she ran off with a salesman well, how do like that? If I told you that he took it well I would be deceiving He took it on the chin boys when she said that she was leaving I don’t believe that I’d like to find myself in his shoes With that bottle of tequila and bad case of the blues. Instrumental: The story of his life is like a heart-breakers yard Ev’ry woman that he’s loved at some point handed him his cards. He has a way of getting in the way it always ends in trouble His world comes crashing down and he’s left standing in the rubble. But though this boy may be down my friends I’ve never seen him out If things get too hot in the north he’ll take a ride down south His reaction ain’t nothing you could really call news With a bottle of tequila and a bad case of the blues.
